Vichy is the best-known naturally sparkling mineral water in Catalunya, and perhaps in the whole of Spain. It has a high mineral content and a distinctive taste. The source is a thermal spring sixty miles north-east of Barcelona, prized for the quality of its water since pre-Roman times. Since 1889 it has been bottled in the small village of Caldes de Malavella. It is now one of the most recognisable water brands throughout Spain. Its taste comes from the 27 essential minerals it contains, which are known to lower cholesterol and promote metabolic function. It is available in 1.2 litre recyclable bottle embossed with a Gaudi design - the winner of a global packaging innovation award.
