This Trabanco Cider from Asturias is a still, or 'natural', cloudy cider. It is made with 100% cider apples, using natural yeasts and fermentation in traditional chestnut barrels. The colour is bright yellow and the aroma complex. It is dry with notes of ripe apple and subtle herbs; the flavour is fine with dry tannins.
The custom in Asturias is to pour a small amount at a time using the special pouring spout from a great distance into a rustic flat glass. This introduces some air to the cider and helps the flavour develop - try it and see!
