This is a classic salsa from Catalunya! It is a rich, mildly spicy sauce made with Noras peppers, tomatoes, almonds and nibbed hazelnuts. It is a versatile salsa, served as a dip with fish, seafood and vegetables. Or it can be used in seafood stews such as the Catalan mixed seafood stew called 'Suquet de Peix'. And in Catalunya it is famously used as part of a 'Calcotada'. In early Spring, the Calcots (a type of Spring Onion) are harvested and barbequed over wood fires.
