This beautifully presented netted tin contains best-quality small, tender octopus pieces. The octopus has been flavoured with oil, salt, and paprika, a classic recipe from Galicia.

Traditionally, Galician women (in Spanish they are 'Gallegas') would go to street fairs in carts. There they would first boil the octopus, slice it and serve it on simple wooden dishes known as pulpo boards. Onto the boards they would put sliced boiled potatoes followed by the octopus slices. Oil, sea salt flakes and paprika would be sprinkled on top, ready for the hungry customers!

And of course it would often be eaten with a glass of Albarino as an accompaniment.
