Six designs of hand painted ceramic mortars with a wooden pestle, brightly coloured in traditional Spanish style. The mortars each come with a wooden pestle and are the perfect size for preparing for example garlic and parsley or chillies and other spices. Each mortar is 10.5cm high and 11.5cm in diameter. The wooden pestle is 18cm long.

They are from our supplier of ceramics in Andalucia. Ceramicas del Rio Salado are based in a town famous for its ceramics called La Rambla, near Cordoba. Named after the Rio Salado, a tributary of the Guadalquivir river which flows from the Cordoba region through Seville and down to the sea.

Since 1969, Ceramicas del Rio Salado have been making their own designs of ceramics and pottery. They combine tradition and originality with top quality materials, clays and glazes. The soil in this area is rich in high quality clay deposits. This has led to the town of La Rambla becoming famous for its pottery and craftmanship.
