Gabriel Amatller established his workshop in the heart of old Barcelona more than 220 years ago. He began selling his artisan chocolates to the city’s elite, until it grew into one of the finest chocolatiers on the planet. Gabriel’s grandson, Antoni Amatller i Costa, took over the family business almost a decade later.
As an art collector and patron, the entrepreneurial Antoni had the idea to start creating collectible cards and posters. These were by artists such as Alphonse Mucha, Apel·les Mestres and Alexandre de Riqueras, and accompanied the chocolates. His artistic eye and pioneering flair live on today in the brand’s beautiful packaging and attention to detail.
