Serrano ham slices from hams cured naturally for 14 months. They are made from Duroc-breed Serrano pigs. The extra marbling in the meat allows for 25% less salt than normal to be used in the curing process. This gives a sweeter, more mellow, rounded flavour than other Serrano ham. The slices are interleaved for ease of separation. Serve them at room temperature for best flavour.
Classically served in Spain with Picos artesanos (mini breadsticks) as an accompaniment, or as part of a charcuterie platter with other meats and olives - and a glass of Rioja!
