This is a 500g piece of Pata Negra ham, from Iberico pigs roaming the forests of Extremadura, feeding on acorns. The hams are salted first and then cured for around two years. This gives them a melt in the mouth texture and nutty depth of flavour. Cleaned of skin and excess fat, it is ready for slicing paper-thin, either by hand with a long ham knife or a slicing machine. Vacuum-packed and in a presentation box. Winner of a two gold stars in the 2017 Great Taste Awards! The judges said: 'A sweet, nutty flavour; a well-marbled, richly flavoured meat.'
