Turron is a classic Spanish sweet delicacy. It is a kind of almond nougat, originally brought to Spain by the Arabs. Torta de Turron is a round flat 'cake', made using a mixture of Marcona almonds mixed with honey. An egg white wafer holds it together to form a round shape.
We have the normal turron bars, but also this extra quality Turron Torta Imperial. The brand is 'Dona Jimena', famous in Spain, with a traditional Andalucian-style tile decoration on the box. The almonds are left more whole in this torta, making it extra crunchy and delicious!
