A hand made and hand painted traditional terracotta olive dish. From our new supplier of artisan ceramics in Cordoba, Ceramicas del Rio Salado. They are based in a town famous for its ceramics called La Rambla near Cordoba in Andalucia. The company is named after the Rio Salado, a tributary of the Guadalquivir river which flows from the Cordoba region through Seville and down to the sea.

Since 1969, Ceramicas del Rio Salado have been making their own designs of ceramics and pottery. They combine tradition and originality with top quality materials, clays and glazes. The soil in this area is rich in high quality clay deposits, which has led to the town of La Rambla becoming famous for its pottery and craftmanship.

It has the word Aceitunas (Olives) painted onto the main dish. Then there is a small bowl on one side for the olive stones. These are called huesos in Spain, meaning bones.
