Ceramicas del Rio Salado are based in a town famous for its ceramics called La Rambla, near Cordoba in Andalucia. They are named after the Rio Salado, a tributary of the Guadalquivir river. This salty river flows from the Cordoba region through Seville and down to the sea.

The soil in this area is rich in high quality clay deposits, which has led to the town of La Rambla becoming famous for its pottery and craftmanship.
