'Entreflores' is a crisp dry white wine from the Rueda region produced by the PrÃncipe de Viana winery. Rueda is located along the banks of the Duero River in Castilla y León, a 2-hour drive north of Madrid. While winemaking in this area goes back to the 12th century, it was in the 1980s that the region was granted Denominación de Origen (D.O.P.) status.
Rueda’s main grape variety, Verdejo, gets its distinct complexity from stressful growing conditions and mineral-rich soil. The grapes that are used to make Entreflores Verdejo come from selected vineyards. Hand-picked grapes are crushed and fermented at low temperature. This creates a wine with an intense aroma of tropical fruits, fresh grass and flowers.
Entreflores Verdejo is full-bodied and aromatic but still dry. A white wine with a lush and smooth character with perfectly balanced acidity. So it pairs well with seafood, fish and white meat, fresh salads and spicy food, but is also great on its own.
