Description
'Entreflores' is a crisp dry white wine from the Rueda region produced by the Príncipe de Viana winery. Rueda is located along the banks of the Duero River in Castilla y León, a 2-hour drive north of Madrid. While winemaking in this area goes back to the 12th century, it was in the 1980s that the region was granted Denominación de Origen (D.O.P.) status.
Rueda’s main grape variety, Verdejo, gets its distinct complexity from stressful growing conditions and mineral-rich soil. The grapes that are used to make Entreflores Verdejo come from selected vineyards. Hand-picked grapes are crushed and fermented at low temperature. This creates a wine with an intense aroma of tropical fruits, fresh grass and flowers.
Think of Entreflores Verdejo as a fuller-bodied and more aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. A lush and smooth character with perfectly balanced acidity means it pairs well with seafood, fish and white meat, fresh salads and spicy food, but is also great on its own.
