Description
Oloroso sherries start out the same as a Fino sherry. But in those barrels with less 'flor', the wine oxidises and matures differently, to produce this complex and subtle sherry.
Oloroso is made from Palomino Fino grapes, aged in American oak barrels using the traditional Criadera y Solera system. It is old gold in colour, with smoky wood aromas. On the tongue it's velvety with rich, complex flavours of chocolate, caramel and roasted almond notes and a clean taste on the palate.
Drink chilled or at room temperature as an aperitif with olives and nuts. Try it also with main courses: meats and game dishes, spicy foods and mature cheeses such as an aged Manchego or Mahon. It can also be served as a digestif.
Denomination of Origin Jerez.
