These are delicious! Ripe black figs in a sugar syrup with L'Esperit brandy. This is a Marc de Cava from the famous Cava producer in Barcelona, d'Agustí Torelló i Mata. Marc de Cava is a brandy made from the double distillation of Macabeo grapes (one of the main grape vareities used in Cava) according to the French 'charentais' method of making brandy.
Combining the black figs with the most exquisite fine brandy syrup creates a fabulous dessert. Serve wth some clotted or double cream and a glass of our dessert wine for a heavenly treat! We also have the same confit figs in a syrup without the Marc de Cava if you prefer.
