Sal de Ibiza

From the beautiful Balearic island of Ibiza, this Flor de Sal is hand-harvested from the Salines d’Eivissa nature reserve, just as it was 2,800 years ago. Inherently pure, with nothing added, the sea salt crystals form naturally under the Ibizan sun and are then gently ground in ancient stone mills. This allows the salt to retain over 80 essential minerals and trace elements. The salt works date back to the 8th century BC and over the centuries passed through the hands of the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Moors. After the Spanish ‘Reconquista’ in 1235, the works became substantially more productive. In 1871 two Majorcan businessmen bought the salt works and named it Fábrica de la Sal de Ibiza. Today, with an ethos for providing carefully-made, natural products, Sal de Ibiza brings us a delightful award-winning range using their world-renowned Flor de Sal.
