Murcia al Vino was originally probably a happy accident and we can well imagine the first ever ‘Drunken Goat’ cheese, decanted from a barrel of wine it had previously fallen into. Now protected with the distinguished Denominación de Origen status, Murcia al Vino can only be made in the Murcia province with the milk from Murcian sheep.

Located in southeast Spain, near the Guadalentín River in Murcia, Fortaleza del Sol have been making this delicious Murcia al Vino following the age-old recipe set by generations of artisans and shepherds in the area. This very particular process of dipping the cheese in red wine, coupled with the best selection of raw materials, results in an artisan-made cheese that is unique in its aroma, flavour and texture.
