Cantabrian anchovies are recognised as the finest flavoured in the world. These are lightly salted and hand-packed in olive oil in a small tin. Because they are only gently salted they only have a short shelf-life, but this relative lack of salt makes them plump and particularly delicious - completely different from most anchovies you will have tasted previously, and fantastic eaten on toast as a canape, or in salads like Caesar salad for example. The judges said: 'Good sized meaty anchovies, tasty and well-filleted'.
